The Space itself is beautifully spacious, and we wanted to keep it like a blank canvas that would be filled up by various objects of art, beautiful handmade furniture, paintings etc. The flooring is composed of the humble Kota Stone, which was intentionally chosen for both its neutral colour and naturally uneven texture, as well as for the practicality of the material. The walls are treated to almost feel and look like buffed concrete, to give personality to the space without detracting from the items showcased within. Perhaps the one most eye-catching and symbolic element in the store is the winding staircase connecting the ground to the first floor. Composed of wood and iron clad in white rope, the staircase almost looks weightless as if held up by strings. The theme of rope, or a line connecting two generations of women, is used in the logo for the store as well, in the shape of a circle.
Product range available at the store: Furniture, Art, Artifacts, Lights, Home Accessories, Objects D’Art
On display we have furniture designed by Kavita Singh herself as well as special items that have been sourced individually by her. In character, the store also showcases lots of art, from Pitchwais to Kalighat paintings to art works by Uma Kilachand to some photography as well and various objects d’art in silver and bronze. There are also some smaller home décor items such a lanterns, venetian mirror photo frames, silver plated containers, silver plated thali dinner sets, an exclusive candle range and marble urlis and tea light containers. We also have a collection of several original crystal chandeliers, as well as some contemporary hanging lights (the latter by Klove of Delhi) as well as many table and standing lamps in a variety of materials and finishes.
The major pieces displayed are all one of a kind and hand selected if not made by Kavita Singh herself. Kavita is known for her impeccable taste and expert eye in sourcing – you will find objects here that you are sure to not find anywhere else. Sourced items also are given a contemporary twist, such as an old cabinet reinvented into a contemporary bar, or the bronze masks that are given a modern setting by the bespoke designed acrylic bases they are positioned on.
Kavita Singh is a renowned Interior designer who has been in the business for over three decades.
